Recasa lets you photograph a room and see it redesigned by AI. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles and what happens to it. We've tried to keep it short and honest.
Room photos. The photos of rooms you choose to upload. That's the heart of the app, and the most important thing to be clear about (see below).
An anonymous device identifier. The app generates a random ID stored securely on your device. It is not your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID — Recasa currently has no accounts and collects no contact information.
Your designs and preferences. The AI redesigns generated for you, the styles you chose, your room names, your "make it real" checklists, and your home setup answers (house or apartment, own or rent, room count).
Purchase records. If you buy credits or subscribe, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We receive transaction events (what was bought, when) through RevenueCat, our billing provider, so we can grant your credits. We never see your payment details.
When you generate a design, your photo is sent to OpenAI to create the redesigned image. Per OpenAI's API policy, data sent through their API is not used to train their models by default. Photos are also screened by an automated moderation system before processing.
Your photos and generated designs are stored on our backend (hosted on Convex) so your rooms and designs sync and persist in the app.
We never sell your photos or data, never use your photos for advertising, and never share them with anyone except the service providers above, strictly to operate the app.
No name, email, or phone number. No contacts, no location, no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your rooms, photos, designs, checklists, and credit history from our servers, and resets the app. You can also email us at joey@slateworks.io and we'll handle it within 30 days.
Don't include people in photos. Recasa is for rooms. Photos containing people may be rejected by moderation, and you should not upload photos of identifiable people.
Children. Recasa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Service providers. We use OpenAI (image generation), Convex (data storage), Apple App Store (payments), and RevenueCat (purchase management). Each receives only what's needed for its function.
If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
